Father Edward L. Beck, C.P. is a Roman Catholic priest of the Passionist Congregation. He is an authorhttps://youtu.be/QDEUhJiCCV4 playwright and on-air commentator for CNN on issues of faith, religion and ethics.
Prior to working for CNN, Father Beck was a media contributor for ABC News, CBS News, Fox News, HLN and MSNBC. While at ABC News he co-hosted a weekly series, Focus on Faith with Chris Cuomo, currently at CNN.
Father Beck's three books : God Underneath: Spiritual Memoirs of a Catholic Priest, Unlikely Ways Home: Real Life Spiritual Detours and Soul Provider: Spiritual Steps To Limitless Love are all published by Doubleday / Randomhouse.
His play, Sweetened Water was produced in an Equity production at Martha's Vineyard Playhouse in the summer of 2015. Developmental staged Readings of the play starred Vanessa Williams, Amy Brenneman, Brooke Adams, Josh Lucas and Laila Robins.
Beck's second play, UNGODLY PURSUIT, is currently in the developmental stage. After a successful private Los Angeles Reading featuring Lea Thompson, Peter Facinelli, Lou Diamond Philips, John Patrick Amedori, Obba Babatundé and Deborah Ann Woll, there was a Reading at the Vineyard Playhouse on Martha's Vineyard in August, 2019 starring Vanessa Williams. Following that was a public west coast premiere Reading at Chapman University starring Vanessa Williams, Joey Kern, Liam McNeill, Rico E. Anderson, Robert Pine and Cristi Andrews Cohen.
In 2020 Father Beck and his Passionist Community will launch a new multi-platformed media project called PASSION MATTERS. More information forthcoming.
